A decentralized and transparent grants program for the Neo ecosystem

8 | 9 | The GrantShares Program is a discretionary grants program governed by the **GrantSharesDAO**, where 10 | funds are primarily provided by the Neo Foundation and partner initiatives in the Neo ecosystem. 11 | 12 | The **GrantSharesDAO** is designed to give the Neo community **more agility** to execute initiatives 13 | beyond those directly supported by the Neo Foundation or other grant-based programs, 14 | such as [EcoBoost](https://neo.org/eco#ecoboost), [EcoFund](https://neo.org/eco#ecofund), 15 | or [Early Adoption](https://neo.org/eco#earlyadoption). Therefore, GrantShares **doesn't compete** with 16 | those and is regarded as a **complementary program**. 17 | 18 | GrantShares offers an *alternative* avenue for seeding **new development projects at a grassroots 19 | level**, as well as to offer **existing groups new opportunities** for creativity and community growth. 20 | 21 | > 👉 **GrantSharesDAO** welcomes the submission of smaller grant proposals that do not fit the scope of 22 | > existing funding tracks provided by Neo (as mentioned above), and approving those of the 23 | > highest quality that have the potential to bring value to the Neo ecosystem. 24 | 25 | ## Areas of Interest for Funding 💡 26 | 27 | There are three main categories: 28 | 29 | 1. **Community Growth** 30 | 2. **Ecosystem Recruitment** 31 | 3. **Internal Development** 32 | 33 | Spending is aimed to be split roughly 33% to each category. This will not be enforced by the 34 | GrantSharesDAO governance, meaning that discussions off-chain should be conducted to reach the 35 | spending threshold. 36 | 37 | ## GrantSharesDAO Members 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 38 | 39 | GrantSharesDAO is composed of 'Members', which are initially appointed by the Neo Foundation. The 40 | GrantSharesDAO Members are a small group of individuals/entities aiming to increase Neo's impact 41 | and reach through community activities. Once deployed the DAO membership is set to be decided 42 | only through proposals -- either to remove existing members or to add new ones. 43 | 44 | The Members analyze project proposals submitted to the GrantSharesDAO, with the goal to benefit 45 | the growth and development of the Neo ecosystem. Each DAO Member may vote to approve or reject a proposal. 46 | 47 | ## Repositories 🛠 48 | 49 | The GrantShares **smart contracts** are developed at https://github.com/AxLabs/grantshares-contracts. The repository holds two contracts which are deployed on Neo N3 mainnet: 50 | - GrantSharesGov: [`0xf15976ea5c020aaa12b9989aa9880e990eb5dcc9`](https://explorer.onegate.space/contractinfo/0xf15976ea5c020aaa12b9989aa9880e990eb5dcc9). 51 | - GrantSharesTreasury: [`0x6276c1e3a68280bc6c9c00df755fb691be1162ef`](https://explorer.onegate.space/contractinfo/0x6276c1e3a68280bc6c9c00df755fb691be1162ef) 52 | 53 | The **documentation** is maintained at https://github.com/AxLabs/grantshares-docs and deployed at https://docs.grantshares.io. 54 | 55 | The source code of the **web app** is currently not public. 56 | 57 | ## Acknowledgement 🙏 58 | 59 | GrantSharesDAO is maintained by [AxLabs](https://axlabs.com), with wide support from the Neo community: 60 | 61 | - [Neo Foundation](https://neo.org) 62 | - [Neo News Today](https://neonewstoday.com) 63 | - [NGD](https://github.com/neo-ngd) 64 | - [ngdenterprise](https://ngdenterprise.com) 65 | - [COZ](https://coz.io) 66 | - [NeoNEXT](https://neonext.io) 67 | - [NSPCC](https://www.nspcc.ru/en/) 68 | - [NeoResearch](https://neoresearch.io) 69 | - [Red4Sec](https://red4sec.com) 70 | - [AxLabs](https://axlabs.com) 71 | 72 | ## License 📃 73 | 74 | Licensed under [Apache2](http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). 75 | 76 | ``` 77 | Copyright 2021 AxLabs (axlabs.com) 78 | 79 | Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License"); 80 | you may not use this file except in compliance with the License. 81 | You may obtain a copy of the License at 82 | 83 | http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0 84 | 85 | Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, software 86 | distributed under the License is distributed on an "AS IS" BASIS, 87 | WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied. 88 | See the License for the specific language governing permissions and 89 | limitations under the License. 90 | ``` 91 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- /LICENSE: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 | Apache License 2 | Version 2.0, January 2004 3 | http://www.apache.org/licenses/ 4 | 5 | TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR USE, REPRODUCTION, AND DISTRIBUTION 6 | 7 | 1. However, in accepting such obligations, You may act only 170 | on Your own behalf and on Your sole responsibility, not on behalf 171 | of any other Contributor, and only if You agree to indemnify, 172 | defend, and hold each Contributor harmless for any liability 173 | incurred by, or claims asserted against, such Contributor by reason 174 | of your accepting any such warranty or additional liability. 175 | 176 | END OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS 177 | 178 | APPENDIX: How to apply the Apache License to your work. 179 | 180 | To apply the Apache License to your work, attach the following 181 | boilerplate notice, with the fields enclosed by brackets "[]" 182 | replaced with your own identifying information.
