├── CONTRIBUTING.md ├── CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md └── README.md /CONTRIBUTING.md: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 | # Contrbuting 2 | 3 | The Node for Max Examples repository is an open source project, and contributions and help from the community is strongly encouraged and important to improve the software. Contributions are therefore always welcome, no matter how large or small. Here are some things we'd like you to keep in mind in order to help with keeping the process smooth and organized. Please also read our [Code of Conduct](CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md). Any examples that do not follow the Code of Conduct are subject to removal. 4 | 5 | ## Adding a Node For Max Example 6 | 7 | To add an example, you will need to add to the list in the [README](https://github.com/Cycling74/n4m-community/blob/master/README.md) by creating a pull request. 8 | 9 | ### Style and Formatting Guidelines 10 | - Each pull request should contain only one additional example. 11 | - Search through the current examples to make sure you are not submitting a duplicate one. 12 | - Though not necessary, ideally each example would link to a GitHub repository which contains documentation and code. 13 | - The format within the list is `[Name](link) by [Author](link) - Description`. The README is a [Markdown file](https://guides.github.com/features/mastering-markdown/), which is a simple format to style text. 14 | - Make sure the example is well documented! It should be clear how to use the example. 15 | 16 | ### Steps to Add an Example 17 | 1. Create a Github account if you do not already have one. 18 | 2. Fork this repository by clicking on the "Fork" button in the upper right-hand corner. You will now have your own version of this repository that you can edit. 19 | 3. Edit the README file, by clicking on the pencil icon in the upper-right hand corner, or by cloning your repository and editing the file locally. Commit your changes. 20 | 4. [Make a pull request](https://guides.github.com/activities/forking/#making-a-pull-request). Once you have committed your change, in your forked Github repository, you should see a message at the top that says something like "This branch is 1 commit ahead of Cycling74:master. Pull Request Compare". Click on the pull request button! 21 | 5. Wait eagerly for your example to be merged. 22 | 23 | ### Updating your PR 24 | 25 | Making a PR adhere to the standards above can sometimes be difficult. If the maintainers notice anything that we'd like changed, we'll ask you to edit your PR before we merge it. There's no need to open a new PR, you can just edit the existing one. If you're not sure how to do that, [here is a guide](https://github.com/RichardLitt/docs/blob/master/amending-a-commit-guide.md) on the different ways you can update your PR so that we can merge it. 26 | 27 | ## Updates to this Repository 28 | 29 | You are also welcome to create an issue or pull request suggesting changes to how this collection works, removing dead links, removing an outdated example, and so on. 30 | 31 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- /CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 | # Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct 2 | 3 | ## Our Pledge 4 | 5 | In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as 6 | contributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and 7 | our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body 8 | size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, 9 | nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and 10 | orientation. 11 | 12 | ## Our Standards 13 | 14 | Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment 15 | include: 16 | 17 | * Using welcoming and inclusive language 18 | * Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences 19 | * Gracefully accepting constructive criticism 20 | * Focusing on what is best for the community 21 | * Showing empathy towards other community members 22 | 23 | Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include: 24 | 25 | * The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or 26 | advances 27 | * Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks 28 | * Public or private harassment 29 | * Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or electronic 30 | address, without explicit permission 31 | * Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a 32 | professional setting 33 | 34 | ## Our Responsibilities 35 | 36 | Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable 37 | behavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in 38 | response to any instances of unacceptable behavior. 39 | 40 | Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or 41 | reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions 42 | that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or 43 | permanently any contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate, 44 | threatening, offensive, or harmful. 45 | 46 | ## Scope 47 | 48 | This Code of Conduct applies both within project spaces and in public spaces 49 | when an individual is representing the project or its community.
