1 | # Disable Player Reporting
2 |
3 | This mod disables Minecraft's new Player Reporting feature, once and for all!
4 |
5 | ## Why this mod?
6 |
7 | Many of the existing mods that claim to "disable" player reporting contain extra, unnecessary modifications to the game.
8 | At best, these extra changes can affect your ability to play on servers that enforce secure profiles, while at worst
9 | these might introduce "gaslight" exploits that allow you to be falsely reported by other players.
10 |
11 | This mod does one simple thing: it disables Player Reporting. You can still play and chat securely on any multiplayer
12 | servers like normal, and you can't get falsely reported by using this mod!
13 |
14 |
15 | What's the catch?
16 |
17 | The release of Minecraft 1.19.1 introduced a chat message signing system, which allows Mojang to verify that chat
18 | messages have not been faked when they receive reports about deeply offensive behaviour in multiplayer.
19 |
20 | Many "no chat reports" mods appeared after this release, claiming to "prevent" players from being reported to Mojang.
21 | However, these mods are not actually preventing anything. They are simply removing signatures from chat messages, and
22 | this will simply lead to you being unable to play on servers that enforce secure profiles. Any reports faked with the
23 | use of mods will not be considered by Mojang, as they lack the signatures necessary to prove a player actually said what
24 | they were reported for.
25 |
26 | This mod is largely a joke, parodying other "no chat reports" mods. This mod just prevents *you* from reporting other
27 | players. It doesn't interfere with signatures at all and will not stop you playing on secure servers.
28 |
29 | To repeat, player reporting exists to allow players to be reported for deeply offensive behaviour. Chat signing exists
30 | to allow Mojang to verify these reports. Reporting does not allow Mojang to spy on players or snoop on private
31 | conversations.
32 |
33 |
34 | ## Usage
35 |
36 | ### Client
37 |
38 | Simply install Minecraft 1.21 and Fabric Loader 0.15.11 or above, then drop this mod in your `mods/` directory. Next
39 | time you start your game and join a server, player reporting will be disabled!
40 |
41 | ### Server
42 |
43 | Player Reporting is a client-side feature and the Minecraft server does not support Player Reporting. As a result, this
44 | mod is unsupported on the server.

20 | #
21 | # Gradle start up script for POSIX generated by Gradle.
22 | #
23 | # Important for running:
24 | #
25 | # (1) You need a POSIX-compliant shell to run this script. If your /bin/sh is
26 | # noncompliant, but you have some other compliant shell such as ksh or
27 | # bash, then to run this script, type that shell name before the whole
28 | # command line, like:
29 | #
30 | # ksh Gradle
31 | #
32 | # Busybox and similar reduced shells will NOT work, because this script
33 | # requires all of these POSIX shell features:
34 | # * functions;
35 | # * expansions «$var», «${var}», «${var:-default}», «${var+SET}»,
36 | # «${var#prefix}», «${var%suffix}», and «$( cmd )»;
37 | # * compound commands having a testable exit status, especially «case»;
38 | # * various built-in commands including «command», «set», and «ulimit».
39 | #
40 | # Important for patching:
41 | #
42 | # (2) This script targets any POSIX shell, so it avoids extensions provided
43 | # by Bash, Ksh, etc; in particular arrays are avoided.
44 | #
45 | # The "traditional" practice of packing multiple parameters into a
46 | # space-separated string is a well documented source of bugs and security
47 | # problems, so this is (mostly) avoided, by progressively accumulating
48 | # options in "$@", and eventually passing that to Java.
49 | #
50 | # Where the inherited environment variables (DEFAULT_JVM_OPTS, JAVA_OPTS,
51 | # and GRADLE_OPTS) rely on word-splitting, this is performed explicitly;
52 | # see the in-line comments for details.
53 | #
54 | # There are tweaks for specific operating systems such as AIX, CygWin,
55 | # Darwin, MinGW, and NonStop.
56 | #
57 | # (3) This script is generated from the Groovy template
58 | # https://github.com/gradle/gradle/blob/HEAD/platforms/jvm/plugins-application/src/main/resources/org/gradle/api/internal/plugins/unixStartScript.txt
59 | # within the Gradle project.
60 | #
