27 | phase of tumor growth. Histological grading, based on a stereotactic biopsy test, is the gold standard and
28 | the convention for detecting the grade of a brain tumor.
29 | Tumor biopsy being challenging for brain tumor patients, non-invasive imaging techniques like Magnetic
30 | Resonance Imaging (MRI) have been extensively employed in diagnosing brain tumors. Therefore, development of

Neural Networks (NN) form the base of deep learning, a subfield of machine
42 | learning where the algorithms are inspired by the structure of the human brain. NN take in
43 | data, train themselves to recognize the patterns in this data and then predict the outputs
44 | for a new set of similar data. NN are made up of layers of neurons. These neurons are the
45 | core processing units of the network.Classifier models can be basically divided into two
46 | categories respectively which are generative models based on hand- crafted features and
47 | discriminative models. CNN identifies features from images and trains itself to distinguish
